Discontinuation of SMS 2FA in SELFCARE

Announcements 7 July 2023

Dear Valued Customer,

Over the years, SMS-based 2FA has been widely misused by malicious parties, making it less reliable than before. Ensuring the safety of your domain name remains our top priority. Thus, MYNIC will remove SMS-based 2FA from our SELFCARE starting 1 August 2023 during nameserver change.

You can still use email or Google Authenticator as your primary 2FA option during nameserver change via your SELFCARE. This extra layer of security ensures that the action taken is authorized by you.

To use Google Authenticator as your 2FA, download Google Authenticator app from Google Playstore, Apple App Store or Huawei AppGallery.
