5,000 Malaysian Run Together With Sehati Sejiwa

Kuala Lumpur, 23rd August 2015 - In conjunction with National Day celebration this year, Ministry of Communications & Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM) and MYNIC has organized a running event at national level – Larian Sehati Sejiwa. The event had gathered more than 5000 people among the running enthusiasts and also fun runner from all over the Malaysia. Larian Sehati Sejiwa was officiated by YB Dato’ Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of KKMM and also attended by YBhg. Dato’ Sri Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad, Secretary General KKMM and En Hasnul Fadhly Hasan, Chief Executive Officer MYNIC. The main objective of the program is to boost the spirit of patriotism and togetherness among Malaysian. The event features 10 km category for avid runners, a more relaxed 5 km for leisure runners and 3 kilometers for kids between 7 and 12 years old. YB Dato’ Jailani Johari said, "The Larian Sehati Sejiwa is not only good to encourage a healthy lifestyle, but also be able to gather the Malaysian community in a spirit of togetherness. It also demonstrated that running can be fun, enjoyable and an activity that fosters quality time with family and friends”. Among the main attractions is a cash prize of more than RM10,000 and other prizes include cash money for 10 awesome runners and extravaganza lucky draw for all participants. Among the lucky draw prizes are 5 motorcycles, 10 bicycles and 20 of sports accessories. One uniqueness of the Larian Sehati Sejiwa was each runner run with the Malaysian flag and run through 5 check points to take a selfie or wefie photo. "I am very excited of the responses and thrilled to be able to organise this for the first time at National Level. Larian Sehati Sejiwa is an approach by MYNIC and KKMM to be together with the society as well as to introduce initiatives offered in .myBuddies a major program by MYNIC. By combining it, we will be able to reach out to a larger audience in exciting new ways,” said Hasnul. This program may also help to improve Malaysian socio-economic status, particularly through .my ownership and community programs. It is specially designed to ensure development of the Internet community identity and online business expanded. Hasnul added, “This will encourage youth and entrepreneurs to be bolder to highlight their business online. All runners will receive two .my domain name to make it easier for them to start their online activities”. MYNIC is an agency under KKMM responsible in ensuring the development of domain name industry as part of ICT infrastructure in Malaysia.
