7,000 Celebrate Bulan Kebangsaan in MYBUDDIES RUN #sehatisejiwa

Cyberjaya, 21st August 2016 – In conjunction with National Day celebration, the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM) and MYNIC have organized a running event at national level – myBuddies Run #sehatisejiwa. The event had gathered 7,000 people of various backgrounds from all over the country. The myBuddies Run #sehatisejiwa is a continuation from the previous Larian Sehati Sejiwa held in 2015. The event was attended by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak, Minister of KKMM, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Dr. Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad, Secretary General of KKMM, YBhg Datuk Bridget Lai, Chairman of MYNIC and YBhg. En. Hasnul Fadhly Hasan, Chief Executive Officer of MYNIC. YB Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak said, “myBuddies Run #sehatisejiwa is a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians and at the same time it could bring together all Malaysians from different walks of life. In accordance to the National day theme, Malaysia #sehatisejiwa, this event will encourage the spirit of patriotism and love for our country in every Malaysian”. The run features one-of-a-kind concept with its custom-designed masked fun run, spanning across 3km, 5km and 10km race. 7,000 runners took on a track filled with surprising and enjoyable elements where up to RM13,000 cash prizes are offered by the organizer. In addition, all runners participated in lucky draw with attractive prizes worth RM65,000 including a Proton Iriz and five mountain bikes. The uniqueness of myBuddies Run #sehatisejiwa is that each participant received a special edition National Day mask and also an antivirus software from the organizer. There were various activities in the program such as body combat exercises led by celebrity Sharifah Sakinah, as well as performance from Drama Band, a local artist. Speaking on the occasion, Hasnul said, “This is the second year MYNIC organized a running event for National Day and I am very proud and happy that we managed to pull it off and it is a remarkable achievement for us. It is also an effort by the Ministry and MYNIC to get together with the public celebrate National Day 2016”. Hasnul added, “Since myBuddies was introduced back in 2014, it has grown rapidly with the implementation of various activities and programs. By organizing such running activities, we can promote active online lifestyle through myBuddies platform that was designed to ensure the development of internet community identity and expansion of online businesses”. MYNIC is an agency under KKMM that is responsible in ensuring the development of domain name industry as part of the ICT infrastructure in Malaysia.
