.MY Domain Name Lifecycle Overview
Domain Availability
The available .MY domain name can be purchased through our Registrars. You must meet the eligibility requirements for .MY domain registration. The registration process is based on a first-come, first-serve basis, and domain names can be registered for a minimum of 1 year and maximum of 10 years.
Registration Period (1 to 10 years)
During the registration period, your domain is in an active state, allowing you to make changes to the contact information, change of registrant, transfer registrar and change nameservers.
To keep the domain active, you must renew it before expires. Keeping your domain active is essential for ensuring your website remains accessible online and your email services continue to function.
You can renew your domain for a minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 10 years depending on your eligible remaining year(s). Your registrar may set it to auto-renew subject to their renewal policies and terms.
Your domain registrar will send you reminders before the expiration date to ensure that you don't miss the deadline and risk losing your domain. When it comes to preserving your domain, it is vital to keep your email address and contact information up to date to receive these reminders and other important communication.
If you request to delete your domain name before it expires (during active status) or during the renewal grace period, the domain name will be immediately placed in the redemption grace period of 30 days, followed by a pending delete period of 5 days.
Renewal Grace Period (45 days)
When your domain expires, it enters the Renewal Grace Period of 45 days, during which it becomes inactive, and other services associated with your domain such as your website and email will cease to function.
However, you can reactivate your expired domain by renewing it within this period at no extra cost. Standard domain names can be renewed at the standard renewal fee, and premium domain names can be renewed at the premium renewal fee.
Redemption Grace Period (30 days)
If you do not renew your domain within the Renewal Grace Period, it will enter the Redemption Grace Period for 30 days. During this period, you can still renew the domain name, but you will be charged a redemption fee in addition to the renewal fee of 1 year. The redemption fee may vary between Registrars.
Pending Delete (5 days)
After the Redemption Grace Period, the domain enters the Pending Delete period for 5 days. During this period, the domain can no longer be redeemed or modified.
Deleted
Once the pending deleted period ends, the domain is deleted and becomes publicly available for new registration.

Domain status is displayed alongside domain name when queried in MYNIC WHOIS page. The following is the complete status list and definition for each:
